Minutes
- Welcome by Tory.
- Tory to inform the group on the change to management structure. Tory is now the Operations Manager and Gill is now the Business Manager.
- Tory to inform the group to changes made to the reception team. In recognition of the role they have in the practice the receptionist are now know as Care Navigators. They play a vital part in signposting to the most appropriate clinician or service. Not clinically triaging signposting.
- Update by Tory on the Covid campaign. The practice will begin the Spring booster campaign from 13th April 2026. Same cohort as the winter campaign, Over 75s, Patients in Nursing and or residential homes and severely immunocompromised.
- Acquiring new members to the group. Tory discussed the need to reach the wider patient population and her plan is as below.
- Less frequent Face to Face meetings with the Friends of Cumberland House (FOC) champions, a smaller group that helps co-ordinate the group.
- Virtual forum to spread across all of the adult population; everyone over 18 years will be invited to be a friend of Cumberland house. With one Annual General Meeting (AGM) with a roundup of the years achievements and opportunity to contribute throughout the year. This will increase diversity in members and as part of signing up they will provide email addresses. Helping us with cheaper communication.
- They will be emailed the quarterly newsletter, and the first invitation to vaccination clinics and other health promotions. They can complete the annual survey
- As part of the FOC the get first refusal of educational meetings, 4 per year of useful informative sessions that we would change throughout the years to offer additional information we cant do during core hours.
- Tory would need to research further the terms of reference needed for a virtual group and the GDPR around group emails. If they give consent then that’s covered and if they withdraw we remove that immediately. All new patients get offered the opportunity on registering.
- This way we can say the practice is trying to reduce health inequalities and be inclusive by offering wide range of topics.
- This was discussed and it was felt this was a good idea and be very useful to the patients. Tory will prepare to send the invitations and at the next meeting we can have some ideas on an educational evening.
