National Did Not Attend (DNA) Day
National DNA Day is observed annually on April 25th.
From February 2024 to February 2025 17,310 appointments were missed at the surgery!
That’s 288.5 hours of wasted clinicians time!
Please cancel your appointment so we can offer it to someone else. You can contact the surgery on 01785 813538 or cancel your appointment using the NHS app.
We would like to thank majority of our patients that attend and cancel their appointments!
Your appointment could be offered to another patient who may urgently need it.
Update on our Training Practice
We would like to thank all patients who have supported our Medical Students by attending consultations with them during their training to become General Practitioners.
We encourage patients with new health concerns to continue booking appointments with our Medical Students, who work under the supervision of our Partner GPs. Your support is invaluable in helping them achieve their career goals.
We are also delighted to share that our Pharmacist, Hamed, is currently training to qualify as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner.
Kind Reminder for Blood Forms
We are encouraging patients who have been given a blood form which hasn’t been request by Cumberland House surgery,
to book online elsewhere, please visit the Patient Connect Secure Digital Booking System.
One Problem per Appointment
Please remember that clinicians are only allocated time for ONE PROBLEM per APPOINTMENT.
Why?
One problem as safety comes first and can cause a distraction from dealing with your main problem. Ensures no serious illness is missed. Allows the clinician to focus on one area at a time.
What May Help?
Before coming to your appointment, we ask if you can highlight your concerns. Thinking about important information and symptoms. Book another appointment for different areas.
Please also see our Self Help article 'Getting the Most out of a Consultation'.
Friends of Cumberland House
We want to ensure that patients, their families and carers are represented and heard from at all stages of their treatment.
A Patient Participation Group (PPG) is generally made up of a group of volunteer patients and the Practice Manager. Patient participation groups meet on a regular basis to discuss the services on offer, and how improvements can be made for the benefit of patients and the practice. If you would like to join or receive please see our further information please visit our Patient Participation Group section.

Sadly we have to say goodbye to Dr Ismail at the end of March, who is moving to a New Practice. We all wish you the best and you will be greatly missed. We have a new Doctor starting called Dr Alex Cooper.
